Multi-Platinum Producer Johnny J Found Dead

johnnyjMulti-platinum songwriter and music producer Johnny J, committed suicide in the LA County jail Oct. 3rd, ThugLifeArmy.com reports.

Johnny J is best known for his production work on Tupac Shakur’s albums All Eyez on Me (’How Do U Want It,’ ‘Life Goes On,’ ‘All Eyez on Me,’ …) and Me Against the World (’Death Around the Corner’)

According to early reports, Johnny J jumped off a tier in the jail causing his death the night of Oct. 3rd. He was in the county jail on a DUI charge.

Producer Dr.Dre’s Son Found Dead

Andre Young Jr, the son of hip hop producer Dr. Dre was found dead in his home.  Young was out the previous night and returned home around 5:30 A.M. accordiing to Assistant Chief Ed Winter.  His mother went to check on him in his bedroom around 10 A.M,. found him unresponsive, and called 911.  He was only 20 years of age.  The cause of death is pending completion of a toxicology report according to The Los Angeles County Coroner.

Christina Millian to sue producer of “Dip It Low”

christina_millian_dreAccording to TMZ.com, Christina Millian is suing record producer Poli Paul for $300,000 plus punitive damages.  In 2003, Christina recorded her first U.S. album for Island Def Jam. Poli Paul, a defendant, is the producer. Paul wrote the song “Dip It Low,” which turned into a monster hit. But according to the lawsuit, filed just minutes ago in L.A. County Superior Court, Milian claims Paul “very definitely” assured her “there were no samples whatsoever in …’Dip It Low.’”

“Dip It Low” allegedly did contain a sample written be Thomas Turino, Larry Crook and Dan Dickey.  They released an album in 1983 called “La Sirena.” According to the suit, Paul was in a Pasadena, CA record store, liked the song, and looped a 12-second sample of it into “Dip It Low.”

Lil Wayne and Producers get sued!!

How can you claim to be the greatest rapper alive and you keep jacking people for their music.
This is the second copyright infringement lawsuit filed since the release of this album. Wayne is being sued by the music publishing company that owns the rights to the Rolling Stones song “Play with Fire.” Abkco Music Inc. claims that Wayne released an alternate version of the song, that they’re calling “explicit, sexist and offensive” without permission. They’re suing for unspecified damages.

Dr.Dre says “Detox” by year end

Dr.Dre said “In a perfect world, I’m shooting for a November or December release.” After almost a six year hold up, Dr.Dre explains.”I’m just now, over the last couple of months, starting to feel that its’s going to be right and it’s something I can be proud of, and everyone is going to love it.” This announcement is coming on the heels of the release of “Beats by Dr.Dre, his high definition powered isolation headphones available on friday (July 25) exclusively at Best Buy and Apple stores for $349.95.
